Does linux support blu-ray drives?
I am planning to buy a blu-ray drive to use in linux, I want to be certain if linux can record to blu-ray discs.
I know linux can't play blu-ray movies, my main purpose is to use blu-ray to backup data? I be much obliged for any feedback. Thanks |

I meant to label as outdated, but question was support for Blu-ray.
I myself have the LG BH10LS30 and it's recognized it came with a 25Gig disk just haven't tried burning or backing anything up other than cd's. Also I've been meaning to atleast go rent a movie to see if it has all modules loaded. |
Thanks for this. I need to upgrade my system and get the new K3b. Currently I can only use my Blu-ray drive as if it were DVD drive.

growisofs handles bluray, which is the backend to the burning apps like k3b, tkdvd etc. |
