Does L2 Cache matter with Dual-Core for speed?

Laptop #1: Celeron 1.5G____Processor_____400 FSB 512MB SDRAM_____w/256K L2 Cache
Laptop #2: Celeron 1.3G__M Processor #350 400 FSB 512MB DDR-SDRAM w/__1M L2 Cache

The 2nd laptop is much faster than the 1st laptop in my day to day use.
I'm told this is because of the large 1M L2 Cache.

Question - should I be worried about the low L2 Cache in upgrading to the laptop below.

AMD Turion 64X2 TL-50 1.6G Processor 1.6G FSB 1GB DDR2-SDRAM W/2x256K L2 Cache

In a word, no.
Have a look at tomshardware.com to give you a detailed explanation.
