Do I dare to flash firmware with wine?

Yo!

I am planning to upgrade my cd-writer's firmware. Few if's and but's:

Flash can be done with Windows 95, NT4 only. Not with win2000 at all. I do not have NT 4 or win 95. I threw them away long time ago. ;-)

So I think that perhaps I could make the flash with Wine. Yes...no need for windows.

But it sounds really risky, after all. What do you think? I have never used Wine before.

Yes, you are right. Its a mindless idea.

But I have such an obsession, that I want to fight towards mainstream and proof, that Windows is not needed...

Its difficult. ;-)

I fucked up my Rio 500 when I tried to use the rio 500 software that was written for linux.....yes, written FOR LINUX (by some guy on sourceforge, not by sonic blue)

So I wouldnt try it, ive already lost my mp3 player.

BTW, my rio is now in 50 pieces

Well, im not sure if it was my fault or not

If the software is natively written for linux, then you could probably give it a go.
