Im wondering if anyone could help me!
ive got a amd 64bit machine and was wondering if my suse 8.2 pro is able to handle it or would i need to purchase their latest version or is their another distro which is as good.

Due to the backward compatability of the AMD64, any distribution should theoretically install and work properly. I was running redhat 9 on an AMD64 machine for quite a while. The only disadvantage is that it will not be optimized for your hardware.
