Display settings fubar
I just installed Fedora Core 4 on my IBM NetVista (8305-QYU) machine and I'm having problems with the display settings. I've read a few threads, tried editing the xorg.conf file, no matter what I do the setting will not stick, AND, it won't let me select a resolution higher than 640x480.
I'm using the on-board video, which is an Intel 82845G controller. The monitor I am using is the IBM ThinkVision L150 (6636-AB1). I have selected the correct hardware -- and even tried selecting other similar/generic ones -- but every time it never applies and when I reboot it defaults back to 640x480 with "thousands of colors". Any ideas how I can get the resolution set to 1024x768 and make it stick? I know the machine can support 1024x768 because I dual-boot into Windows, which has the same settings (1024x768 resolution, 32-bit color, 75Hz refresh).
Any ideas as to what I can do or what I may be doing wrong?
