display problem


this is abdul

i have a display problem

when i open some programs such as the mozilla web browser i have scrambled screen where the task bar,the header and some areas of the page have scrambled colors(multiple colors)

this happens to me only when i open some programs

I've had this problem before, and it usually grew in magnitude until I had to reboot. Are you using a 64 bit distribution? This happened to me on Ubuntu 5.04 x86_64 and Suse 9.3 x86_64 and my problem was solved when i installed the normal x86 versions instead. Suse was giving me some error about processor frequency scaling, but I never found out how to fix it.
