Dish/Echostar PVR/DVR Harddrive

Does anyone have information on mounting a harddrive taken from a Dish Network PVR/DVR unit onto a Linux filesystem?
It does not seem to be a valid ext2 or vfat system.
Perhaps the data on the drive is encrypted?
It would be great to be able to transfer the saved videos from the drive and record them to a DVD disk (in .VOB format), instead of having to go through capture hardware.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Try to take about an hour searching through Google or other spider search engines.

You can try to do a lazy or sloppy mount and use the verbose option to see what it is trying to do. With the mount command try using the auto as the filesystem.

You may want to go over to They may have some information about your device.
