disabling RAID for dual boot

Hi,
I would like to dual boot XP and ubuntu. I have a RAID 0 configuration but want to get rid of it as I don't really need this. Can I go ahead and disable RAID 0 in the bios and do a clean install of XP followed by ubuntu or are there any gotchas with disabling RAID. I'm new to RAID as you can tell so not sure if I can just disable it. I have 2x250 SATA drives in use. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to LQ!

Yes, you can disable RAID in the BIOS (this is not a real RAID anyway) and use your rig as you intended to.
