direct rendering intel

I have an Intel 852gm card and after i recompiled my kernel, I don't have direct rendering working anymore. When I startx, it complains about a module i915 which when both compiled in and out of my kernel doesnt work. It complains about drm being a once only module. Any ideas...I have i810 and i830 in my kernel...should I remove i830 as well? I have recompiled xorg a ton too.

Have you seen the DriTroubleshooting on the DRI Wiki? That pretty much allways helps me out.

It seems like every time I configure a kernel I happen to leave out something for DRI.

kg4ysy, you do not want any DRM modules compiled for the kernel.

This is provided by Xorg. What AGP chipset do you have? (lspci |grep AGP)
