Digital Camera problems in RH9
Linux crashes after a few seconds when I connect my digital camera to a USB port. It seems that the camera is recognized because i have enough time to see that the device is mounted.
Digital Camera: Konica KD-400Z Distribution: RedHat 9 Any suggestions? |
the device is mounted?? what is doing this? do you have supermount set up or soemthing? by default nothign is ever mounted without you saying to do so... connecting the device by USB and then checking "dmesg" will mostly likely show you details of teh relevant drive being loaded, but nothign should actually get mounted... try breaking down the process into smaller steps. possibly KDE is sticking it's overweight and insulting ways into it....

Hi acid_kewpie,
you are right, I have enough time to mount the device before the system crashes and that was what I did. I have check dmesg and it seems that the device is recognised. This is the relevant part of the dmesg output: hub.c: new USB device 00:10.2-1, assigned address 2 usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x4c8/0x726) is not claimed by any active driver. Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 605 scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Vendor: Konica Model: KD-400Z Rev: 1.00 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi1, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 SCSI device sda: 253313 512-byte hdwr sectors (130 MB) sda: Write Protect is off sda: sda1 WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured USB Mass Storage device found at 2 USB Mass Storage support registered. I am not sure if it is complete as i have to save the dmesg output before the system crashes. Any idea? Thank you. |
