Hello there,

does anyone managed to install Linux on a DELL Precision 350 Workstation?
I tried several Distribution, but either the Keyboard does not work at all or the display shows garbage or the installer stuck somewhere at detecting the chipset.
I also searched a lot of Forums for this Issue, but found nothing that helped.

My Configuration:
DELL Precision 350 Workstation (Service-Tag:7MJFM0J)
3.06 GHz intel Pentium
1 GB ECC RAM
Matrox Parhelia
DELL 20" TFT Monitor (FP2000?)

I tried also different Keyboards (PS/2 and USB), but it doesn't work. I experienced some Keyboard trouble during installing Windows XP Pro for the first time, but now the Keyboard (PS/2)works fine.
Should I claim a new Mainboard at DELL Support or am I doing something wrong (Kernel-Parameters, Boot-Options) ?

It would be of great Help if somebody can tell that Linux runs on this Computer in that configuration.

Sorry,I dont use a DELL Precision 350.But I just hit google with 'Linux+DELL Precision 350' and I could see that there are similar problems.
Also see http://www.redhat.com/solutions/part...ell/page2.html though I dont know how usefull it would be.

Thank you very much for that Tip, I found the Problem was the USB-Controller. I finally installed Linux by booting it with the -nousb option. After installing, it automatically detected my usb-mouse and works now fine (except for the graphics adapter, but this is a different issue).
