Delete duplicate hardware listings, and another...
Hello all!
I am new to Linux. Just installed SuSE 8.1, and had trouble -- may still be having trouble <g> - with my CD-ROM/DVD drives. Now, when I go to list my available hardware, I have several listings for one of the drives and two listings for the other -- not including the entries that are checked and working. How do I delete these extra entries?
Also, I have an Asus P4T-E motherboard, and under available hardware, it says I need to cofigure my Asustek 82801BA IDE U100 Storage Controller, but when I try to configure it, I get a message stating there is nothing to configure????
Thanks for the reply Mod -- yeah, I'm finding out that there are lots of things with Linux that you simply don't worry about. I'll get used to it eventually, although I am having trouble now -- I like everything perfect! ;-) Alas...
When I go to Yast2 for instance, my IDE CD-Writer isn't configured, although it works fine. When I try to configure it, it says the device was successfully added as /dev/sr0. But then, it isn't checked as configured, even though it says it is! Argh! I just wanted to set DMA to ON, but since the drive isn't listed, it's not possible...oh well.
