Debugging linux kernel GDB & JTAG

Hello,
I am using an MPU LPC3250 (ARM926EJ-S). To this I do have an JTAG connected that works as an GDB server.

The board I am using is Phytec phy3250. The JTAG tool init the SDRAM and Clock.

When trying to following the example http://elinux.org/DebuggingTheLinuxKernelUsingGdb I do wondered about how it is with virtual addresses.

It seems like the linux kernel is loaded to an virtual address 0xc0000000 that do not exist. (The MMU has not been sett up yet) Is this right?

How does this work. GDB and MMU?
