Debian Wheezy - GNOME launches in Fallback, 3D acceleration?
Distro: Debian Wheezy
Kernel: 3.1.0-1-amd64 Graphics Card: ATI HD4890 So this morning I installed Debian Wheezy. After logging in, I got a message saying it had launched in fallback mode due to drivers not supporting something or other, I am sorry but I didn't pay much attention to this as I thought installing the graphics drivers would fix it. So I installed the ATI catalyst driver 11-12 and rebooted, however this changed nothing. I believe I am having a similar problem to the OP of this thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ration-894505/ However when I installed the firmware-linux-nonfree package and rebooted, nothing changed still. Is there a set up step i have to do with this package after installing it through aptitude? First time post, my apologies if I have missed vital information. |
Have you launched
