Debian Network Adapter Problem

I have a strange problem with Debian "Etch" using Kenrel Version 2.6.18-4.

I have a box which has the following Hardware:

Gigabyte M6161PM-S2, Geforce 6100, Nforce 430 Chipset
512Mb Ram
10Gb HDD
Semperon 3000+ Socket AM2 Processor

The problem is with the network adapter, I am using debian etch since the netboot installer for sarge could not find the network adapter. The netboot install of etch does however (it loads the forcedeth driver).

The system downloads all the files and installs the OS without problems. The problems begin when the system reboot s after install. Once booted the system cannot find the ethernet adapter (eth0), it lists two other interfaces lo and eht1 (which has the reverse mac address of the eth0 adapter).

I find it odd that the system fails to find an adapter it previously used to install the os in the first place.

I have tried many things but a friend pointed me towards some tools that i could dump useful info from. I include these below, they clearly show the interface eth0 is detected but fails to start.

Any help you can give me with fixing this would be great, please remember I have no network connection on the box so commands like apt-get are unavailable (I have been downloading packages on my windows machine and moving them across by USB memory stick).
