debian "lenny" nvidia nforce4 software raid 10

I have a amd64 with suse 10.2 installed. It uses Nvidia nforce4 software RAID 10. I'd like to try debian linux on that machine. [I already transferred important files to another PC, so I can just write over the old hard drive data.] I have 4 drives in the raid array.

According to the Debian website, I need the "weekly" compilation (Lenny). I took the step during installation to load dmraid, i.e.

install dmraid=true

However, when it gets to the partition step, the debian sees the 4 individual drives. Now it seems to me that since both Suse and Debian are using the 2.6 kernel, both versions of linux should be able to handle the Nvidia nforce4 software raid.

Any suggestions?
