Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Debian install issue

I'm having trouble installing Debian 3.0rev2 on this system. I've downloaded the ISOs from debian.org, burned them, and booted the installation disk ok. My problem is that the install can't find the RAID controller. I'm using an LSI Logic 20320-1. Every other Linux version that I've encountered will detect that card. I'm familiar with RedHat 5.2 thru 9.0 and both Fedora cores, SuSE 8 thru 9.1, and FreeBSD 4.9. I've also used an Adaptec 2920S controller, with the same effect. I get the distinct impression that I'm doing something wrong, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is.

Any help would be most appreciated.

You may want to go to the new installer section and get the Sarge rc2 installer which was just released yesterday and has support for raid 1 & 5 as I remember it in the announcement, if you have any problems or success be sure to file an installation report to give the developers some feedback.
