debian getting Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick to work
 

Hi,
how do I get debian to detect my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick? I use KDE 3.5 and would like to use it for flight gear (and other games). How do I test whether it is detected?
Also, it was not plugged in during the debian installation.

if its a usb joystick, try to take its number by typing:this should give you two numbers, one is the company's id, the other is the product. if you look them up on google you should find how to do it.
