Debian does not detect modem
 

I have just installed Debian 4.0 (64-bit) on my desktop. I installed an internal Zoom model 2920 processor based modem AFTER installation of Debian. Config below:

I tried internal help, which says to open Administration-Networking and click the "Add" button on the connections tab (which only shows an unconfigured Eathernet connection) and it will automatically detect my modem. Unfortunately, there IS NO Add button! (Just "Properties" "Activate" and "Deactivate").

The modem is sold as a Linux modem, and I just prefer the internal to an external just because of lack of desk space. Any suggestions (including get a different modem) are welcome. I would dearly like to post my next question from my Linux, not this Microcrud system.

I have two other problems but they will be in separate postings to aid the area experts in finding them.

Never Mind, I am nothing if not easily discouraged. I have given up on Debian and moved on to Ubunto, which does recognize the modem, just won't actually use it to dial out.
