Debian 3.0 hangs on ata seek on install

I am trying to install Debian 3.0. The install locks up on the "loading module 'ide-disk' for linux ata disk" screen at 84%.
I believe the reason why is I am running 2 sata hard drives. The only ide drives I have are my opticals.
Any help is greatly appreciated..... It is an Asus A8N-E motherboard, AMD 64 3500+ processor.

Thanks

It's probably the SATA's. Debian 3.0 (woody) uses a 2.2 kernel by default. Try a newer install disc. The current stable version is Sarge (3.1 rev 2). You probably want to use the AMD 64 port to take advantage of your processor.
