Unhappy DD-WRT with WRE54G range extender on slackware 12.2

I've never used DD-WRT before so I'm completely clueless.

How do I set up a wre54g repeater with it? I can't find the .bin on the dd-wrt site, I just find wrt54g. Is it possible to have it on the range expander and not the WAP? If so, how? I can't even connect to the darn router in the first place. I've never set one of these up before (the instructions are on the windows disc... DANG IT! DX)

Can someone take it from the beginning, and tell me what on earth I need to do?

Ok, sorry to double post...
I just tried a windows machine. I got the "WRE54G cannot associate with AP in repeater mode!" error. What am I to do?
