Dazzle SmartCard Reader

I have a USB SmartCard reader (Dazzle brand). When I take pictures with my digital camera, I can pull the SmartCard out of the camera, insert it into the Dazzle reader, and pull the pictures off with no problem. I just mv them to wherever I need. I then check the card (its directory is empty), umount the card, and all seems well.

Then I insert the card back into the camera, and it will not function. It comes up with !Card Error! and will not even format. I tried reformatting it in both Linux and Windoze, to no avail.

All this would be irrelevant if I could get gtkam to read a serial port. However, that is impossible.
