After installing openSuse 11 i have recognized that the new
Kernel finds and accepts the DVC100 - the dev ID is inserted
by default - so anyone who wants to use the dazzle only has to update
the System and/or the Kernelversion.
2.6.25.5 from Suse is used in opensuse 11
The /dev/dsp1 should work.
? Why not on your System ?
What Kind of Soundhardware do you have on this System ?
Any more Soundhardware than onboard and Dazzle ?
( Some Hardware has also Sounddev. > Webcams f.e. )
How do you tested it ( Kind of Programm )
I have had some funny Effekts with Alsa on an other System
- without any Dazzle - possible to test oss or other ?
Dazzle still in use - Skype still uses the wrong Videomode
all other Programms works fins.
Greetings Bernd
Also -> please post the Message when you restart Soundsystem ( ? Distro > rcalsasound restart or such ? )
dmesg gives you the Kernelmessages - the last after restart
of alsa depends on it.
I found a workaround to my problem. I open up the sound mixer and select dvc100 then toggle capture from PCM on / off / then back on this enables sound capture from my Dazzle capture device.
I will grab some messages from dmesg during the capture and post them.
Does anyone know of a web site or forum that has updated info on using a Dazzle or other Analog to USB input device? I'm thinking of buying one to use with Linux, but want to know exactly what works with minimal tweaking. Want to transfer some home VCR tapes (with sound) to DVD. I'm running Ubuntu 10 (Mint 10) -- is the Dazzle fully supported now?
But - i have a VCR standing close to my Notebook, because we found some
old Tapes - i have to digitize this Tapes and have to try the Dazzle for
it - i will report.
System is Opensuse 11.3 on my Notebook, but the Dazzle should be supported
direktly by the Kernel for Years.
I will Post at the Beginning of the next Week - not much Time today/tomorrow.
