Is there any native driver for this card or any other way to Installed in centos.
I ran into a similar problem with a ralink card and the problem was the kernel was too old, I had a 2-6-18 and it needed to be a later version. I upgraded and solved the problem.
By the way I tried it with a linux driver than I thought it was just the driver so I used ndiswrapper with the supplied windows drivers and it still would not work with the older kernel.
I can not remember where I found my information at, the website or the readme supplied with the linux driver. My card had to have a 2.6.22 kernel or better. I am not saying this is your problem but it is something to consider. You could always update your kernel but I would think it would be easier to update your distro or better yet find a card that you know will work.
Build the latest madwifi from source. No need to update kernel. The build compiles the module for your current kernel.
After that do rmmod ath_pci ath_hal or something like that and then do modprobe ath_pci and see the dmesg output.
I'd restart after building and installing though.
