CUPS printing to LaserJet 4 Plus, ipp error?

I have a LaserJet4 Plus using the ljet4 driver provided by CUPS. The printer is connected to a network Print Server, provided by HP.

I have tried setting up the printer with lpd, ipp, jetdirect, and SAMBA.
Everytime, CUPS reports "Connected to printer 192.168.1.203..." and the icon is yellow in the web interface.
No matter, however, which protocol I specify, I get an IPP error page print out every 1-5 minutes, and following every document that I send to the printer.

I am using CUPS version 1.2.10 on Gentoo.

I have a 4L and I use the Foomatic/hpijs driver, works fine. I had problems with the jet4 also my url;
ipp://192.168.0.4:631/printers/LabelPrinter

I fixed the problem. I set it back up as JetDirect using ljet4 driver, reset the the print server (which turned out to be the problem *duh*).
