CUPS and Canon MP190 printer. Print quality and printer sharing...
I was recently given an old Canon MP190 printer/scanner. I hooked it up to my old desktop, running Puppy Linux. It works with no problems, but I cannot find any way to change the print quality, so it takes FOREVER to print anything, and uses a ton of ink. In Windblows, there is the "draft," setting in the printer setup page...but I cannot, for the life of me, find a way to set that option in CUPS.
Aside from that, I'm trying to share the printer out via the network, so my wife can print from her Windows Vista laptop. I have relatively little experience with mixed networks, so I'm not entirely certain how to configure Samba to share a printer. Any advice on either or both of these issues would be much appreciated! Maybe with a Canon driver...
You could try to install the driver and see if that helps. Choose Linux in the menu under "Operating System" http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010639.asp |
