CTX PR711F xfree hang "monitor turns off"

Hi i`m having a very unpleasant problem with my RedHat 9.0 when i attempt to start the x my monitor just turns off. I tried a lot of things to fix that but no result every time the same... I have asus a7v with GeForce FX5200 64mb. The same problem presents with knoppix. I believe that the problem is that RedHat just don`t like my monitor so if anybody have an idea how to make him like it i`ll be thankful (:
