Btw, these are the packages I've installed...

libmtp-0.0.20-i486-1sl.tgz
libnjb-2.2.5/

Did you make sure to install the libraries before gnomad2? If not recompile gnomad2.

Did you try playing with the permissions of the device before you tried opening gnomad?

i.e. (make sure you're logged in as root)
mount /dev/mtp
chmod 777 /dev/mtp

yup, permissions arent't the issue....

But now I have un-upgraded my firmware (cause I saw a message on creative page that says firmware 2.XXXX only works with winXP... bad creative... :P ) and the message I get on my slack is...

Quote:
rita@lappy:~$ gnomad2 &

rita@lappy:~$
(gnomad2:2472): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtktreeview.c: line 5055 (do_validate_rows): assertion `gtk_tree_model_iter_next (tree_view->priv->model, &iter)' failed.
There is a disparity between the internal view of the GtkTreeView,
and the GtkTreeModel. This generally means that the model has changed
without letting the view know. Any display from now on is likely to
be incorrect.

No MTP devices.
This is a PDE device
Device was not connected.

Hello again Cat.

I've been working on this problem for the past few days, and I figured I'd do a fresh install of the packages on a different system to see if my directions work. They did for me. I'm curious as to if you installed the .tgz packages or unzipped the .gz files. If you installed the packages, uninstall the from the package manager and get the .gz files. Install the libmtp first, the libnjb second, and gnomad2 as the last. Once you get them in plug your player in make sure it's turned on. I noticed I made a mistake in my last posting it's actually mount -t /dev/mtp but I saw that you posted:

No MTP devices.
This is a PDE device

try mounting the player as a PDE device => mount -t /dev/mtp

I hope this helps or we're getting closer to a solution
