CRC error System Halt
After changing the CPU fan (back to an old fan as the new fan started to sound to much) the computer does not boot. It says:
Uncompressing Linux CRC Error System Halt Where should I start looking for errors? Harddrive, RAM? Or could the fan switch itself cause this? Also after trying to boot several times, it is now not displaying anything (not the text above either), so I guess I now have an even more serious problem? The screen is totally black, no sign of booting. |
Could be from switching the fan. Before switching back to the newer one clean it.

Thanks for your quick answer!
Since I now do not get any signal on the screen, I am starting to believe that also the mother board is broken, or is there something else that could cause this? - Totally black screen while starting up. - The front power button (connected to the motherboard, not the power supply unit) does not work. - All fans starting correctly - Tested both with external graphics card and with the motherboard one. |
Fan starts spinning means you have 5 volts DC, the screen displays nothing until the CPU says; all internal tests have passed and I am ready (really it is a pin on the CPU that changes it's voltage state).
