Crash when closing session

Hi, I'm getting this from Xorg.0.log

[details below]

My screen works ok, except for a couple of things:

When logging out of the session, rebooting, shutting down, either in KDE or GNOME, failsafe, ctrl-alt-F1 then "halt" or "reboot", the system freezes or crashes.

While watching videos on youtube, they don't move, but are loaded, unless I run alsaconf before starting firefox.

the main problem with all this is that I can not shutdown PC properly, but only by brute force which I fear could damage the disks.

Please help and thanks.
