cpu temperature
Hi.... I want to view my cpu's temperature without restarting the whole system... I must use it in a server and the restart should be avoided.. . Any good suggestion??

One way which works for me: Get lm-sensors (your distribution should have a package for it) and enable I2C in the kernel. Then run, as root, "sensors-detect". It should load the required modules now, and you can use "sensors" or various other tools to see the temperature.

lm-sensors is no longer needed if you use 2.6 kernel as it's in the kernel

I cannot say enough good things about Gkrellm -- J.W.

I'f i'm not mistaken you can monitor cpu temp using snmp and make an output in mrtg. real nice
try looking at this site : http://www.siliconvalleyccie.com/linux-hn/mrtg.htm |
