Connect timeout error for adsl

I am testing a PowerPC based platform which has an adsl modem:

When I attempt to connect to adsl I get a time out error:

/usr/sbin/adsl-start: line 193: 1912 Terminated $CONNECT "$@"
/dev/null 2>&1

With the same settings I have tested with my dsl (Aztech) modem and it works.

Any clue on this??

I have been struggling on this for a while. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
