Conflict problem with sis 305 and nvidia video cards

Hello, I have an nvidia 64 meg agp video card. I installed the drivers no problem. I also have a sis 305 32 meg pci video card, I can install it (by itself) no problem. When I try to install the 2 cards together, X will not even start up. I run sax2 at the command prompt, and it tries to detect, but kicks back out saying that it cannot match up the boards. So I try to force sax2 (sax2 -m 0=nvidia .....) still kicks back out. So then I try to edit XF86Config and manually enter the information and then I try to start X again, still I get the kick out.

Finally, I try a different video card (doesn't matter brand really) with the nvidia and have no problem. So I do the same with the sis, again no problem. The 2 together just don't want to work.

Now, I know this is possible, because I had the same setup under suse 9.0. With the nvidia drivers from the internet (nvidia website).

When I first installed suse 9.1 both cards started up fine. This only started after I installed the latest driver from nvidia (I even tried the suse nvidia download driver).

So what am I missing? Any clues? Any ideas?

Any help would be appreciated. If there is any more info. I need to provide, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Anthony
