Configuring peripherals and hardware ID (looking for a generic how-to)

Hello,

I am studying for the LPI exam and was hoping that someone here could help me :)

I am running a Debian 5.0.4 OS and running in a BASH shell

I am currently working on trying to figure out how to 'Enable and disable integrated peripherals'.

So, I am assuming this means I need to be able to access the kernel, BIOS, or CMOS setup ...
I have had no luck so far, so how do enable/disable them?

I think these also will be solved by getting into the kernel/BIOS/CMOS setup but just in case.

I am trying to 'set hardware ID for the different devices' and be able to 'configure systems without external peripherals such as keyboards'

I am assuming the second one has to do with remote login, but any help in these sections will be extremaly beneficial :)

Thanks for checking this out ;)
