Conexant hsf modem on Sony PCG GR114-EK

All

The biggest problem i am having so far is to get this f* modem to work on Fedore Core, i have downloaded the free drivers from linuxant and also the tar, installed as per instructions but it will not work for me.

Has anyone ever got this to work and if so, how did you do it??
