Conexant combo modem/sound card
 

HI I've installed the drivers supposedly associated with this type of card, both the modem and riptide drivers, and I still have no sound.. I am running Fedora core 1 kernel 2.4.22_1.2188 on a HP pavillion 9680c. Is there something else I should do? When I click on my sound icon in the task bar it says couldn't open mixer device /dev/sound/mixer?

What do I need to do?

Did u have installed the sound card ?
Both the modem with sound card may not work as the device is mount is one place only.

Please check and install other sound card and then see it works or not.

May be your downloaded driver is not compitible with this type of activity with the kernel..

Please check and let me know.

like a serial number or module number?

Hello all,

I managed to get it to work. Apparently I did not have permissions to use the card after the drivers were installed. I just gave myself permissions. Thanks for trying to help.
