Conexant Access Runner Usb Adsl modem suse 10 (newbie)

Hello everyone

i am trying for about a week to make my modem work on suse 10. (Access Runner Dsl Conexant Usb or else Crypto F200)

Do i have to recompile the cernel ? My kernel is 2.6.13-15-default. I found some articles that saying that pppoatm and cxacru modules are included in this version and the only thing i have to do is put a firmware in the directory lib/firware.

An so i did. After that, my modem seems to syncronize but still dont work.
I take the error message
( no device (8.35)) from kinternet
and with the command pppd (mypeer) i get an error at 8.35 line which is the VPI,VCI.

I am very close to try another distubition ( possibly mandrake ) because i cant find detailed infos on who to get things worked with suse.

Here is my dmesg outpout ( only the intresting lines )
