Concerned Hard Drive Temp
I am getting slightly worried about my hard drives temperature.
Using munit-node says at the moment been running at 42approximately, the highest it's got to is 52 degrees (both degree's Celsius), is this worrying at all? should I start to think about cooling my server down (I am backing it up so it's doing a ton of IO calls at the moment to be honest). Am I just getting over concerned about this and worrying about nothing? |
AFAIK spikes are OK but prolonged exposure to excessive heat may lower MTBF. What makes machines easy is that you can check things so there's no need for decisions based on "guessing", "thinking", "worrying" or other fuzziness: as goes for most HW the vendor has documentation showing a preferred operational temperature range.

The maximum temperature of HDDs is around 60 C. However, 52 is getting close.
What about other temperatures ? Is this inside a case ? If all temperatures are high, consider cooling options. |
