Computone Intelliport on RHEL 3 ES w/ 2.4.21-40 Kernel

Hello,
I have a fairly decent knowledge of Linux. I was a Linux administrator for 2 years but that was 2 years ago! I have a Computone PCI Intelliport terminal card in a PowerEdge SC430 server with RHEL 3 ES installed with the 2.4.21-40.ELsmp kernel. Using the GUI (sorry) I can see that the OS is recognizing the Computone product. I do not know however if the card is working (assume not) and don't know how to get it working if it isn't. I ran "modprobe ip2 irq=0 io=1" and received a "modprobe: Can't locate module ip2" error. I probably need to make a custom kernel with the Computone module installed but I'm not sure quite how - I know there are tons of places to look if this is what I have to do.

Basically what do I need to do to determine if the hardware is working AND if it is not working how do I get it working?

Much much thanks in advance!

I need to bump this message. Are there any ideas out there how I can get the computone module installed and running?

THanks
