Compatible with USB WiFi Card?
Hello everyone,
I am currently using Fedora 17 on my laptop and love the ability to use multiple wifi cards to connect to the internet. I will probably upgrade to version 18 in the near future. Question 1: I have 2 PCMCIA wifi cards but when I try to use them both it seems like they interfere with each other since they are less than an inch apart. Can anyone confirm this happening to them as well? It looks like having them operate on different channels doesn't help much. Question 2: I am considering buying a USB wifi card to use in conjunction with one of my PCMCIA cards and I would like to know if it is compatible before buying it. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/300Mbps-Wirele...b+wifi+adapter Thanks in advance for your help. |
1)
Not sure how you are trying to use 2 wifi cards as you can only have 1 gateway. You will get strong interference spaced 1 inch apart. If you try to transmit and receive then you would have to use one on channel 1 and other on 13 (or 11 if channels 12 and 13 are not available). 2) That card is not listed on the linux HCL: http://linuxhcl.com/ Assume its windows only or email the manufacturer first: http://www.neewer.com/ |
