Compatiable portable linux MP3/OGG players

Does anyone know of any MP3 players (like nomad jukebox) that are easy to set up in Linux? Better yet are there any that are OFFICIALLY supported for Linux?

I need one with at minimum a 10GB hard drive in it.

mp3 player for redhat linux

Hello buddies,

just go to this url: http://www.mpg123.de

and download the mpg123.0-59r.tar.gz file

it is a command line app and very very powerful.

Instructions compiling and installations:

as root type on the command line;
tar -xzvf mpg123.0-59r.tar.gz (to unzip the mpg123 file [remember to
specify the correct
path where you
downloaded your
mpg123 file])
now cd in the unzipped directory of mpg123.0-59r by typing:
cd mpg123.0-59r

now in this file there's no ./configure utility and you do not need it so skip that and make your file by typing:
make linux (if you are using redhat linux and if not type "make --help" to
see if your distro is supported)

now after "make" is complete type:
make install to install mpg123. and if everything is successful. Type mpg123 [ret] and see the usage or help for using mpg123.

To play mp3 you should first cd into the directory where your mp3's are located and type mpg123 *.mp3 (to play all the mp3's or just specify the mp3 name to play it alone.

Have your luck buddie.

I bought a Rio Karma just before Christmas. Linux support is through a browser / Java applet, so it's not the greatest in the world, but it works.

I have a Dioneer DCP 100. It is a CD based MP3 player but it's fantastic! Never mind the 10Gb thing... how many CDRs have you got? Supports 480second anti-shock when in MP3 mode and something like 90seconds in CD mode. Linux support? Just burn a standard ISO9660 (+Joliet extension) disc and you're away.
