Compareing Pentium3 to VIA C3

How well does VIA C3 1GHz (on the Epia CL10000 motherboard) compare to a Pentium3 450MHz (Intel 440BX motherboard)? Is this Epia CL10000 worth swithing to (Linux server platform)?
