Compaq IJ600 Printer Installation
Okay, here's the deal,
I have a compaq IJ600 installed on my Redhat 9 machine, and I want to be able to print from 3 winXP computers on my network. First thing is, that Linux doesn't use the Compaq IJ600 driver, becasue there is none, it used the Lexmark Z22 driver, the printer works form my linux machine. I have the computers networked, I can access my computer from the XP computers, so I don't have any network problems. The XP computers see the printer from network neighborhood, and when I go to install the printer, it says that "this server has the wrong drivers intalled" and it asks me if i would like to search for the correct driver. I installed the printer as a Compaq IJ600 and also tried it as Lexmark Z22, either way, after the printer installs it says that I don't have permissions for this device, and cannot connect. Could it be becasue the linux machine uses different drivers? (Lexmark Z22 when its actually a Compaq IJ600) or could it be something with my cups configuration. I really don't think its my samba configuration. But I'll take any suggestions. Thank you.
