First of all let me warn you that I'm a bit of a noob to linux.
I've been working on getting Mandrake 10.0 up and running smoothly with my Sony Z1-VA laptop over the last few days, but I have been unable to make my wireless card drivers work. I have two wireless cards, one is the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100B card which is integrated into my laptop. As far as this card, I found a Source forge development project for it, but I have decided that I'll leave the 2100B for another day since it seems to be very early on in development.
The other card I would like to configure is a Cisco Aironet 340 PCMCIA card. I downloaded the driver package that Cisco provides on their website, installed the prerequisites, and then installed the Cisco wireless utility and driver. It seemed to go ok (other than the fact I saw a whole bunch of DEPRECHIATED warnings flash by after i executed the 'sh install' command in the driver directory). However, when I attempt to run the wireless utility, it throws an error (?radio could not be found?) and exits. Additionally, the lights on the wireless card never lit up.
I am specifically running a 2.6.3-7mdk i686 kernel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
