Choosing a videocard for XGL

I'm looking for a new cheap videocard for AGP slot. I want a GeForce card, and I could find only GeForce FX5500 at my place, but I want to use xgl on my desktop, so I want to know, is it a good choice, or not? It is in the list of supported hardware in gentoo hardware list, but I've surfed the Internet and found some posts, that there are some problems with it.
So I would like to know, if someone uses it, is there good performance of xgl on this video card?
P.S: sorry for my English.

Eh, I used an MX400 with XGL and the only thing it had slight issues with was a doing 3D-stuff to a window that was playing a movie. Unlike that "other" OS's 3D desktop, XGL isn't a resource hog - a 5500 should cope admirably

I don't think it's a problem at nearly any card that has 3d drivers for Linux (so, nVidia is a good choice here) and even a small amount of memory inside. I had no problems running XGL with a quite old nVidia card. ATI cards do too, but because of the drivers I'd choose nVidia anyway..the thing is, you just need to get DRI working (I tried XGL using only software rendering and it did work, but was a bit slow..not because of the amount of memory but because the lack of DRI).
