Checking the health of Data Cartridge?


I have IBM Ultrium 3 Tape drive. which is connected to a linux server. Before starting the backup can i able to check the health of the Data cartridge? Is it possible?

Maybe. But you don't say anything about the backup software you're using, or what version/distro of Linux, so it's hard for anyone to give you help.

Since it's an IBM product, have you contacted IBM, or checked their knowledgebase?
