Angry checking for new hardware

ok i am really new to linux and i am setting up a 60 gig hda (equaly split for win xp and mandrake 10.1) and a 60 gig hdb (for saving) and it instals but when i reboot and select linux from the lilo boot the system locks up at the checking for new hardware. then i go around that then it will lock up on the bluetooth and so on i need help please!
