Check disk status


Hi, I need to know how to check for disk errors on linux, similar to the solaris iostat -E command.

I believe disk checking is done with testdisk or fsck depending on file system type.

Also, just checking on my debian distro for iostat I found a program called dstat which is described as a "versatile resource statistics tool"
