I feel like an idiot right now but here is my problem.. hopefully somebody can help me.

computer is a Dell Precision 690 installed with Red Hat enterprise version 4. I was 'jacking' around with it and changed the video driver to something I shouldn't have. It was originally set to custom. The video card is a Nvidia Quadro fx 4500 pci-e. This is where the idiot part comes into play. I changed it to the next closest thing, a Nvidia Quadro 4400 driver. It rebooted and now I get a black screen. Is there any way to change the video driver back through command line? I can't even get to a login screen right now.

We figured out the problem. Were able to boot into command prompt, navigate to the etc\X11\ directory and then rename the xorg.conf.backup file to xorg.conf and the settings were restored. yay!

It might be a good time to make a copy of that file somewhere safe.
