Centos Epson Artisan 835 intallation
I am running Centos on an older Dell server. I recently purchased an Epson Artisan 835 printer for used on my home network, which also includes four "Windows 7" machines. I first located and installed:
epson-inkjet-printer-artisan-725-835-series-1.0.0-1-1lsb3.2.i486
This appears to be the correct print driver for this computer, and the Package Manager now tells me it is installed. However when I try to run the "Printer configuration" tool, this printer is not listed, and if I try to add a new printer and locate this driver, its not there under Epson.
I know from "Windows 7" that the port is "EP9C1821:Artisan830" which is an "EpsonNet Print Port". "Windows 7" lists this printer as "Artisan 830(network)" and it uses the "DP9C1821:Artisan830" port name to locate the current IP of the device. DHCP is in use, and this device has no fixed IP.
So does anyone know how I get this working.
